TIMT SUPPORTED CENTRES
About the Hospital
This hospital belongs to the EHA group and was started in 1935 by Dr. Crozier to serve the people of Assam. This 70-bedded hospital caters to the backward Cachar district in Assam. The hospital had only one operational OT and they reached out to us to help them set up an additional operation theatre.
TIMT has supported them by installing new operation theatre lights with the 2 dome LED bulb, giving a combined lighting of greater than 290000 lux illumination. We also provided the hospital with a new anaesthesia workstation of the Penlon brand, which allows them to administer anaesthesia to both infants and adults. This equipment has enabled the hospital to increase their workload.
About the Hospital
The increase in Covid cases in March 2020 led to a rising need for oxygenated beds in and around Bangalore. TIMT responded by equipping the Marthoma Mission Hospital at Hoskote, which caters to over a hundred villages in its surrounding areas, with 32 hospital cots and mattresses. Along with this, TIMT also provided central oxygen supply piping, Nihon Kohden multi-parameter monitors, crash carts, stretchers, wheelchairs, and basic firefighting equipment. These additional facilities helped the hospital cater to a large number of patients.
In April 2021, the rising cases in Karnataka were leaving hospitals stretched to their very limits and patients unable to get ICU care. TIMT responded once again by providing ventilators, BIPAP machines, even more multi-parameter monitors, syringe pumps, infusion pumps, and defibrillators, apart from playing an active role in guiding further expansion of the facilities in the hospital. The local community and other donors also contributed generously, to help set up an additional 46 beds with oxygen at the hospital.
About the Hospital
With cases rising in Bangalore city, TIMT signed an MOU with Dream India Network Bangalore to set up additional 30 oxygenated beds at the Shanthi Nilaya Health Centre, KR Puram. This small hospital was converted to a Covid care oxygen centre, by procuring oxygen cylinders, installing central oxygen pipeline monitors, and facilitating the nursing needs, particularly of the needy and less fortunate in our society.
